What am I: Chinado wines come from unique old vines, between 40 and 60 years old, in the Alcobaça area of the Lisbon region. Chinado Curtimenta was harvested by hand in the first week of September 2019. The grapes were ripe but balanced and very healthy, after a demanding year in the vineyard. Whole bunches were foot-trod with skins with spontaneous fermentation. On the seventh day of maceration, they decided to press for a barrel of 225 l and the rest to a stainless steel vat. The final batch, 40% barrel and 60% stainless steel was finally bottled in May 2020 and 692 bottles are available.
It is an intense wine in every way. Intense in the color it presents, in the nose by the expressive aroma and in the mouth, it has structure and tannin flanked by acidity and dryness. It is an unfiltered wine. Therefore, we advise you to that place the bottle vertically at least 24 hours before opening.
