What am I: Vinhos Aparte Aparte Monda Rosé
What started as a thesis project for three friends attending enology school together has become one of the most exciting natural wine projects in Portugal. Vinhos Aparte brings a punk-rock/graffiti artist aesthetic to their winemaking, and it shows in their whimsical, fresh, fruity, and oh-so-funky wines. They may be grape-mad explorers in wine-based fun and craziness, but they are dead serious when it comes to making extraordinary wine.
Aparte Monda Rosé is fermented and aged in steel vat on lees for a raw, pure style. Untouched before bottling. Redox mechanics create evolving reduction notes blending with oxygen. Fresh, simple, electric finish – a delightful discovery. Nose: Gunpowder, wet stone progressing to floral violet and yellow fruit. Mouth: Smooth, medium-bodied, high acidity cleanses palate. Medium-long aftertaste with a touch of bitterness for added flavor. Vitis Vinifera.
