Description
What am I: Espera Nat Cool
Espera Wines is a small, family-run project on just 3 hectares, located in the Alcobaça region of Lisbon, a historic area and with traditions that stem from the legacy left by the Cistercian monks.
This wine expresses the typical freshness and minerality of this region’s wines, and also the main characteristics of the Castelão grape variety. Made with a fine selection of the best Castelão, the parcel has an eastern exposition and clay-limestone soils.
The grapes are hand-harvested with a yield of 15kg cases and were destemmed with natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts in 1000Kg vats. After a short maceration (2 days), the wine finished fermentation and maturation in stainless steel vats.
This wine is light ruby in color, with fresh notes on the nose, and mainly red fruits (sherry and pomegranate). It is fine, intense, and fresh on the palate, light-bodied, with a very pleasant finish.
