Description
What am I: Espera Touriga Nacional
Espera Wines is a small, family-run project on just 3 hectares, located in the Alcobaça region of Lisbon, a historic area and with traditions that stem from the legacy left by the Cistercian monks.
Spontaneous fermentation unfolds naturally, spanning over 18 days within sizable vats. Subsequently, the wine finds its home within weathered French oak barrels (700L) for a maturation period of 24 months. Much like various other plots curated by Rodrigo, this particular selection originates from an east-facing vineyard. This deliberate choice of a cooler climate location sustains the wines’ vivacity and acidulous character.
