Quinta do Olival da Murta is a family farm with over four generations of ownership by the same family. It is located about 80km from Lisbon, on the Serra Montejunto, near the medieval town of Obidos. Serra Oca wines are hand-harvested from vineyards where organic practices are used above all, and the wine is fashioned in the cellar with no chemical additions and through spontaneous fermentation. The farm is also well known throughout the area for its herb growing programs, reforestation efforts, and whole-system approach to agriculture.

Quinta do Olival da Murta / Serra Oca Castelão is a fresh red wine, with a high level of acidity and clearly discernible maritime influence. The aromas are all red fruit and fresh grapes. Dried strawberry, currant, and just a hint of green leaf tickle your nose, while the palate is fresh crunchy red fruit, medium to low tannins, and integrated alcohol that makes this wine very glou-glou.
