What am I: Vinhos Aparte Monda Classico Branco
What started as a thesis project for three friends attending enology school together has become one of the most exciting natural wine projects in Portugal. Vinhos Aparte brings a punk-rock/graffiti artist aesthetic to their winemaking, and it shows in their whimsical, fresh, fruity, and oh-so-funky wines. They may be grape-mad explorers in wine-based fun and craziness, but they are dead serious when it comes to making extraordinary wine.
Vinhos Aparte Monda Classico Branco represents the best of the different harvests made across the country. Barrels are selected according to a certain profile: clean, crispy, fresh, and concentrated.
On the nose, this white wine is fruity, with green apple, lime peel, white flowers, and herbs de Provence. The flavor profile is fresh, with medium acidity, and a satisfying medium-bodied mouthfeel.
Monda Branco comes with a now-iconic label by Cara Trancada, who is inspired by nature and the feminine universe.
