Humus Deriva Tinto 2014

What am I: Quinta do Paço is a family property, with a total of twenty hectares, ten of which are dedicated to the vineyard and certified organic. This Quinta is home to Rodrigo Filipe and his Humus wines. Rodrigo is one of the pioneering and most experimental and exciting natural wine producers in Portugal. The winery is located in the demarcated region of Óbidos, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra dos Candeeiros mountains.

Humus Deriva Tinto is 100% Touriga Nacional. The grapes were harvested by hand to small boxes and carefully selected. Were destemmed and crushed, and fermented with 8 days of skin contact. The wine was racked to 225 liters oak barrels, where aged for twelve months. Nothing was added, apart from a small amount of SO2 before bottling. It was bottled without any finning or filtration in June 2016. Aged three years in the bottle.
