Penhó Wines are garagist wines produced from grapes grown at Quinta de Penhó. The Quinta is located in Northern Portugal where Minho wines are made. The family vineyard is currently being converted to organic, and the wine is produced as naturally as possible. Using minimal intervention, they have created unique natural wines with very low sulfite levels.
VERBUM comes as VERBUM Trajadura and VERBUM Arinto, according to the grape caste it is produced from. VERBUM is a skin-contact white wine, also known as a curtimenta or orange wine. It has a beautiful amber color, good structure, and a balance between acidity and alcohol levels.
VERBUM was produced by vinifying the white grapes the way red wine is normally produced, meaning that the must was fermented in contact with the grape skins and seeds and macerates for 6 to 7 months. VERBUM, our orange wine, is aged for 6 to 12 months in used French oak barrels before being bottled.
